  • 1 cup rice

  • 3 cup water

  • 1 fresh ginger (“knob” or chunk) (chopped)

  • 4 clove garlic (4 to 5 clv) (minced)

  • 2 teaspoon MSG (“soup stock” or “soup seasoning” (Can be found in the asian section of your local supermarket)

  • 1/2 teaspoo nsea salt

  • 1/2 cup peas, frozen

  • 2 tablespoon green onions (chopped)

  • pinch fresh ground pepper, to taste

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • sesame seeds, for garnish

  • asian chili sauce, for garnish

Directions

  • Add rice, ginger, garlic, and MSG to pot of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Add frozen peas, onions, salt, and sesame oil. Stir and serve, adding pepper and sesame seeds. Garnish with chili sauce (optional).

Notes

  • Dish should not be dry, almost pourable really, perhaps adding water as you go along. Texture should be somewhat gelatinous, and dish should be savory as all get out. An excellent asian comfort food. Another option would be to add some grated carrot.
