A simple homemade adobo seasoning blend of salt, garlic, oregano, black pepper, and turmeric — great for eggs, rice, chicken and more.

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp table salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp dried oregano Mexican oregano if you have it
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Pulse briefly in a coffee grinder or food processor (or grind thoroughly) until the mix is a fine, uniform powder.
  3. Store in an airtight container. Use on eggs, rice, potatoes, fries, chicken, cottage cheese, toast, and more.
