400 grams uncooked Basmati Rice
600 ml cold water
4 green cardamom pods
1 star anise
s&p to taste
- Thoroughly rinse that rice 3 times in ice cold water
- Put rice in pot
- Add cold water (1.5 water:rice ratio)
- Pierce the cardamom pods with a fork.
- Add cardamom and star anise tot he pot
- Add your S&P
- Cover on, bring to a rapid boil and reduce temp to a simmer.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Off goes the lid, remove the anise and cardamom
- Fluff the rice with a fork
